A wind turbine is a device that converts kinetic energy from the wind into mechanical energy. The smallest turbines are used for applications such as battery charging or auxiliary power on sailing boats; while large grid-connected arrays of turbines are becoming an increasingly large source of commercial electric power. Permanent magnet generators are gaining momentum as a key sub-system in this industry. Our generator platforms are scalable from 30kw to more than 250kw output at very low RPM’s. Wind turbines are a form of solar energy since the sun heats the atmosphere at different rates due to terrain, temperature changes and even the rotation of the earth. This all forms patterns of air movement that are predictable and aid in regional placement of wind turbines. Sensors keep the blades facing the wind for optimal performance. We see many opportunities to provide wind turbines effectively and economically.
